SUBJECT: Preparing for the New Year
While I make reference to preparing for the New
Year-2012, we have to be conscious that we're heading
towards the mid-point
of the 2011-2012 UCC of E 2012 year.
My “to
do list" is topped with scheduling visits-which
I think has pretty much solidified with the following
schedule:

New member development, Officers Pledges, etc.
This is an alert to you officers, who each, made the
personal pledge to yourself that you would recruit a new
member for your own Council and to reach out to your
Council's membership to in turn-recruit
new members. I haven't actually
signed anyone yet but I've got two on the line. Also, I'm
running a "blip" in our
Lodge's news letter alerting membership of our organization
and they can get in touch with me for further info. I hope
to have specific numbers from all of
"Us"
by my next news memo.
Ohio Meeting May 4 and 5. Specific information will be
available soon regarding motel arrangements and schedule.
Note: it is likely we will have our "Board" meeting starting
at 9 a.m. on Saturday and hopefully a tour Saturday
afternoon and the dinner Saturday night. More info
forthcoming-soon!
SCHOLARSHIPS. This is a reminder that scholarship
applications are to be turned in to each Council by April 1,
and each Council forwards them on to the Scholarship
Committee by April
30. Reminder -- I am still the Scholarship
Chairman so applications should be forwarded to me. While we
have limited
funds -- I feel confident we can award at least one for next
year.
Scholarship contributions in memory of our departed Brother
Jack Nicholl total $1060 and these funds have been forwarded
to our Council Treasurer for investment.
We only award interest earned from the scholarship
investments.
Important update on members:
Richard "Dick" P. Tower passed away at his residence in
Youngstown December 24.
Larry Hanson, 22405 57th Ave., Austin, MN 55912
(507) 433 6607. Eye surgery in November, recovering but
still with treatment. During our conversation
of December 29, he shared how green his grass was and no
snow .... yet.
Dale Ellsworth, 2849 Greenwood Ln., Youngstown, NY 14176. I
understand Dale is at home, recovering from open heart
surgery on December 20.
