Grand Worthy Chief's Message for 2011-2012 January's thoughts. The Universal Craftsmen Council of Engineers fraternity is unique within the many Masonic organizations and I am always reaching out to fellow Masons to consider our organization for membership.
In my own background, I worked as a salesman with a housing developer in Peoria a number of years ago. In this capacity, there was an opportunity to gain basic knowledge of materials, procedures and practices in applications to home and light industrial construction. My further experience in amateur radio and auto mechanics seems to blend into the whole scheme of interests that parallel those of many other Masons. It is natural to reach out to fellow Masons with like interests and experience. This has provided some most challenging and enlightening discussions. This satisfaction and enjoyment is what prompts me to reach out to others to offer them the opportunity to align with a most unique Masonic fraternity.
Another aspect that I have come to recognize when traveling with a UCC of E member, we are likely to engage in discussions of how to work out electrical wiring installations, how to rebuild motors, engines or transmissions, how to lay footings, or we might discuss new approaches in precast walls, the best applications of prefabrications, materials, compliance with building codes and manufacturers’ guidelines, and discuss utilization of computer applications and maintenance in manufacturing.
In addition to the above, UCC of E Councils may resort to unique approaches to promoting their Council and calling the members out to meetings.
If you are interested—contact me and I will pass your name on to a Council closest to your address and you too may become a member of our fraternity.
